Community Guidelines

Short and plain: the rules for what you share and the comments you leave, what happens when someone breaks them, and how to report or block a person.

Last updated: October 29, 2026

These are the rules for the part of HabitHouse that other people can see. Your habits, your logs, your notes and your coach chats stay private. The posts you share are seen by your friends, and a party post also by the people tagged in it. The likes and comments you leave are seen by everyone who can see the post, and comments on HabitHouse's own posts are seen by everyone who sees those posts. Your name and profile picture can be seen by anyone who has your profile link or your username, and by everyone in a party you join. Everything on this page is about that shared side of the app.

The rules

When you post, comment, like, join a party, or set up your profile, you agree not to share or do any of the following:

  • photos you do not have the right to share, or photos of other people without their consent;
  • nudity or sexual content, and any sexual content involving a minor;
  • content that harasses, threatens, bullies, or demeans a person or a group;
  • hateful content, or content that promotes violence, self-harm, eating disorders, or illegal activity;
  • spam, scams, or advertising;
  • a username, display name, or avatar that impersonates someone else or is used to deceive;
  • joining a party to bother the people in it, or sharing a party's code where strangers will find it;
  • a way around a block, or repeated requests to someone who has declined you.

HabitHouse is for people 13 and older, and these rules apply to everyone who uses it.

Comments

You can comment on your friends' posts and on HabitHouse's own posts, and reply to a comment. The rules above apply to every comment and reply, and a comment can be up to 1,000 characters.

Every comment and reply is checked by an automated safety filter before anyone sees it. If it goes against these guidelines, it is not posted, and you can change it and try again. If the check cannot run, the comment is not posted either. If a comment sounds like you may be going through something hard, it is not posted, and the app shows you where to get help right away, including the 988 line.

Hold a comment to see what you can do with it. You can delete your own comments and any comment on your own post, and you can report someone else's comment, which hides it for you straight away, or block the person who wrote it. You can also turn comments off on any post of yours, which hides its comments until you turn them back on.

Comments on HabitHouse's own posts are seen by everyone who sees the post, so write them as if everyone is reading. There is a limit on how many you can post there each hour, and we can turn comments off on any of our posts.

Parties

A party is a way to do a habit with a Timer or a Workout together. Anyone with a party's QR code can join it, even if they are not the host's friend, so only show a code to people you want there. Anyone signed in with the code can see who is in a party before joining, and everyone in it sees each other's names and profile pictures. The host can remove people from the party. If you have blocked someone, you do not see each other in a party, and you cannot join a party whose host you have blocked or who has blocked you.

After a party, the host's post tags everyone who was in it by default. The host chooses who is tagged and can change the tags later. If you are tagged on a post you would rather not be on, open it and choose Remove me, and you cannot be tagged on that post again. You can also choose Add to my profile to show it on your profile.

What happens when a rule is broken

We review reports, and we may remove content, restrict features, or suspend or end an account that breaks these rules or our Terms of Use, with or without notice depending on how serious it is.

When we remove a post or a comment, it goes from HabitHouse, including from your friends' feeds. We cannot remove a copy that someone has already saved or screenshotted.

How to report

You can report a post, a comment or a person from inside the app. Reports are read by a person on our team. The person you report is not told who reported them.

You can also write to us directly. Email hey@habithouse.app and tell us what happened, with the username involved and anything that helps us find it. Use that address if you would rather not report in the app, if you cannot get to it, or if you are writing about something that happened to someone else.

To review a report we keep a copy of the reported content and the details of the report for up to 90 days, even if the post or the account is deleted in the meantime. Our Privacy Policy covers how that is handled.

How to block

You can block any person, and hide any post, from inside the app. Blocking is immediate: they can no longer see your posts or comments and you no longer see theirs. A block also takes their tag off your party posts, and yours off theirs.

Reporting and blocking are separate actions, so if you want both, do both. Reporting, blocking, deleting your account, and reading your own history never require a subscription.

Appeals

If we take an action on your account or content that you think is a mistake, email hey@habithouse.app with the subject line "Appeal" and we will look at it again.

Where this fits

This page is a short summary written to be read quickly. Our Terms of Use are the binding version, and the "Community rules" section there governs if the two ever differ. Our Privacy Policy explains what we keep when you file a report and for how long. Anything else, email hey@habithouse.app.
